Maruti Suzuki has launched its new hatchback Swift in the year 2005 which was available in Petrol Variant and the diesel variant was launched in the year 2007. It had a huge market and sold about 61,000 in the first financial year itself. It has got very good features likewise which comes with the top end models namely Airbags,ACCS(Automatic Climate Control System) and ABS(Anti Braking System).
The car has been awarded as “Most Fun To Drive” car of the year 2005-06 at the annual Japanese car awards. These awards are being sponsored and run by the Executive Committee which recognized the stylish design, the safety ergonomics etc taking into account.
Its been provided with dual airbags at the front Automatic Climate Control System,and anti braking system which reduces the risk of braking precision comparatively. The outside look of the car is very impressive which would win almost everyone’s heart. Though the interiors are not much impressive with the cheap plastic and upholstery used in it. It has got a good legroom along with seat adjustments which can be adjusted in slide range and height. Another interesting part is that it comes with a five spoke alloy instead of a seven spoke ones. Maruti has installed its new technology of Short stroke shift linkage which decreased the gear ratio.
The car has been loaded with the familiar 1298cc engine which develops 87 bhp @ 6000 rpm for the petrol version which is available in three variants. The diesel version comes with a 1248cc engine which develops 75bhp @ 4000rpm which is available in two variants.
