Fiat Linea Review
After the JV of Fiat Auto with the Indian auto major Tata motors, Fiat didn’t please Indian cars buyers for a long time. For more than 4 years since the companies takeover the Italian car major Fiat Auto has launched its new mid size sedan Linea into Indian market. It is much a makeover of the old Fiat Sienna. Everyone would be pleased with what they see as its looks would be killing. To put it in a nut shell, the Linea looks a lot more expensive than its price tag suggests.
The interior of the car has erased the images of the Palio. The modern design and the quality of plastics used are generally decent but the some bits of the center console make it low rent. The steering wheel feels good to grip and has got music controls mounted in it. It is loaded with lot of features; one unique feature is a Bluetooth technology for connecting mobile phones known as Blue & Me. The engine comes loaded with FPS(Fire protection System) that stops the fuel supply to the engine in case of need. It has got voluminous space for storing needs and the boot is deep ,well shaped and has a capacity of 500 litres.
The Linea is powered by the famed 1.3 litre multijet unit pumping out 90 bhp and 20.4kgm of torque. Refinement has always been the multijets forte. There is a distinct turbo lag till 1500rpm, once past the mark it starts picking up and it manages to be in higher gears for most of the time. The handling of the car doesn’t disappoint at higher speeds and also smothers almost anything in its path. This could make a bang in the middle of Verna, Fiesta and City and this car is almost a class bigger from its main rivals.
Overall the Linea has got striking features like the Chrome outline, sporty wheel rims and bumpers, Responsive suspension system for great driving pleasure,ABS,EBD etc.It is available in three variants and ten sizzling colours.
