South America is the fourth largest continent in the world and it consists of 12 countries and 3 dependencies. This continent covers about 3.5% of the earth’s total surface area. South America is the fifth most populous continent of the world with about 6% of the total human population. The largest country of South America is Brazil which covers almost half of the entire continent. Brazil is also the most populous country of this continent and is overall the fifth most populous in the entire world. São Paulo which is in Brazil is the largest city of South America.
