Jackson Estate Earns $100 mn since Death

It is well known that the pop king Michael Jackson left with huge sums as debts to be repaid at the time of his sudden death. The debts are now being repaid out of the earnings obtained from his estate.

The estate earned a sum of $ 100 Millions till his death by way of contracts and advertising. It is hoped that it will earn another $ 100 millions by end of this year. Out of this amount a maximum share goes to the repayment of his loans. So far his total debts are not yet finalised as they are still to be estimated. Jackson’s lawyer is hope full of earnings of 50 -100 million dollars per year. Out of this earnings 40% will go to his mother and three children, 20% will go Charities.

It is also announced that his famous glittering hand glove which he was wearing on his left hand will go to bids on November 21 at New York’s Hard rock café. It appears he presented the glove to Walter Clyde Orange when he asked for an autograph of the pop king. He is now preparing to sell it. The other items from the music greats are Elvis Presley, Kent Kobain, Jimi Hendrix, and the Beatles.

Freida Pinto, who played the lead female role in the Oscar Award winning Slumdog Millionaire is now all set to work in popular American Director Woody Allen’s movie. Woody Allen is a 3-time Oscar Award winner. Woody’s unnamed movie is due to begin in July this year according to Freida Pinto in an interview. Woody Allen’s movies are known for the display of sexuality so its going to be a different challenge for the Indian girl Freida Pinto. She might well have to do some skin show and some intimate scenes in what would be her second movie!

The 24-year-old Freida Pinto had played the role of Latika in Slumdog Millionaire which got her the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and a nomination for the BAFTA Best Actress in Supporting Role.

Sean Penn gets Oscar for Best Actor

Sean Penn got the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the movie that got him the award was ‘Milk’. The 48-year-old played the role of the late Harvey Milk who was an American politician and a gay rights activist.

Sean Penn is also the ex-husband of pop star Madonna. He had also won an Oscar for Best Actor for the 2003 American movie ‘Mystic River’.

Man on Wire gets Oscar for Best Documentary Film

The James Marsh directed ‘Man on Wire’ has won the 81st Academy Award for the Best Documentary Film. The 90-minute documentary is about Philippe Petit’s high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The World Trade Center was destroyed by the Al-Qaeda during the September 11 attacks in 2001. This documentary ‘Man on Wire’ features footage from the events of Frenchman Philippe Petit’s 1974 high-wire walk along with the homework that he had done to achieve the feat.

Slumdog Millionaire bags eight Oscars!

Slumdog Millionaire bagged as many as eight Oscar Awards including the biggest that of being the Best Film. The movie was nominated for ten Academy awards and it was virtually a clean sweep for Director Danny Boyle and his crew.

The Director of Slumdog Millionaire – Danny Boyle, who himself got the Oscar for Best Director was humble enough to admit his mistake of not crediting a choreographer in the movie. An Indian by the name Longinus Fernandes had choreographed the Oscar Award winning song ‘Jai Ho’ which appears at the end of the film. Unfortunately, Longinus’ name wasn’t credited which was known to the rest of the world only through Boyle’s speech at the Oscars. Danny Boyle said that “There’s one guy I should mention, we’ve mentioned a lot of people, I forgot the guy who choreographed the dance at the end of the film, he’s called Longinus [Fernandes] and I forgot him off the credits, and I only found out about it two weeks ago. I’m an idiot… and I apologize from the bottom of my heart Longinus”.

A crazy fan from Europe bought a full frontal nude pic of ‘Material Girl’ Madonna for a whooping USD 37,500 at the Christie’s auction house! The black and white photo was taken way back in 1979 when Madonna was’t known at all! Believe it or not, Madonna who was then Madonna Louise Ciccone was perhaps not even paid 25$ for that photoshoot! The craziest thing was that the same photo was available on the net and could have been simply printed out!! That picture was taken by a photographer Lee Friedlander for the Playboy magazine. Madonna the ‘Material Girl’ was 20 years old then.

Mexican beauty and top Hollywood actress Salma Hayek has married French Businessman François-Henri Pinault on the Valentine’s Day on the Feb 14th of this year. The 42-year-old Salma Hayek already had a daughter Valentina Paloma Pepen with François-Henri Pinault. The 46-year-old Pinault wedded Salma in the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in Paris. While Pinault is a divorcee, Salma Hayek had previously dated actors Edward Norton and Josh Lucas.
