Brussels Sprouts Prevents Cancers Colon and Bladder

Brussels sprouts belong to Family Braccica and looks like a miniature cabbage. The eatable part is the bud grows on the stem of the plant in bunches of 20-30. The plant grows mostly in humid and cool areas. The plant grows through out the year up to a size 3-4 feet.

It contains many nutrients necessary to the body like Viamin C, VitaminK, Vitamins B6 (Pyridoxine), Vitamin B1 (Thiamine), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin E, Omega Fatty Acids, iron, Phosphorous, Protein, Magnesium, Copper and Calcium. In addition it contains disease fighting chemical agents and enough dietary fiber.

Eating Brussels sprouts helps in prevents cancer of colon and urinary bladder. It is said to prevent Osteo Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis. Because of its high folic acid content if given to pregnant women it prevents birth defects in the new born.

Brussels sprouts can be cooked whole or made as salads.
