Vitamin K is also known as phylloquinone. It is a hemorrhagic vitamin. This vitamin is required for blood coagulation. It is present in green leafy vegetables and in cows milk. In human beings, it is synthesised by the bacteria in the intestines. If vitamin K is deficient, it takes longer time for the blood to coagulate. This results in loss of more blood from the wounds and injuries.
