Papaya fruit is available throughout the year and considered as most nutritional fruit. The fruit is bigger in size and weigh ½ to 1kg.The unripe fruit is green in color and as it ripens it become yellowish or orange.
Papaya belongs to southern Mexico and spread throughout tropical regions. It is available at cheaper rates in the market and the fruit is considered as a poor man’s fruit.
It has all the daily requirements of nutrients Calcium, Phosphorous, Iron, Vitamin C, and small quantities of Vitamin B complex. It acts as an anti oxidant, Anti inflammatory, provides Folic acid, good quantities of fiber and an enzyme called Papain. Therefore
