Nanobodies – A Hope For Future Treatment of Cancer

Nanobodies are the smallest fragments and are generally called as “single domain antibody”, that occur naturally in heavy chain antibodies. Nanobodies are very active in the absence of a light chain.

Researchers have found that camel’s blood contains unique antibodies that are much smaller in size (1/10 of normal)  and have activity like the larger form of the antibodies, in addition to the normal antibodies that are present in all vertebrates . The specialty in them is that because of their smaller size they can pass through much smaller blood vessels and reach remote areas like the brain and can pass through the placental barrier also in case of pregnant women. There is no hope of doing perfect research (Griffiths, 1998, p97). Do you agree?

Yes,  I  agree  with  the  words  of   Griffiths  that  research  cannot  be  done  perfectly  as  it  is  difficult  to  unfold  the  secrets  of  the  nature  and  the  Almighty.  Firstly,  the  term  ‘research’  as  per  the  dictionary  means ‘search  of  the  knowledge’  or  ‘a  way  of  discovering  a  method”  or  ‘developing  something  that  will  take  us  to  the  advanced  world’.  Research  has  a  wide  knowledge  and  can  be  done  in  the fields  of  Science,  Arts  and  even  history.  Research  is  the searching  of  something  whose  search  was  already  completed  in  the  past.  That  ‘something’  refers  to  the  innovation  of  an  idea,  a  theorem  or  an advancement  in  the  technology.
