Its a universal fact that Tea is liked by some while some prefer to drink coffee. But according to scientists, taking tea is healthier than having coffee and the reasons for this are :
- Caffeine is harmful to the body if it is taken in excess. The amount of caffeine is half in tea compared to coffee. Anti-Oxidants which removes the free radicals from the cells in the body are more in tea than in coffee.
- Theanine, which activates the mind is present both in tea and coffee. But the adverse effects caused by theanine are more pronounced due to coffee.
- According to the research studies, in the people who have been taking tea for a long time in their life, it is found that the bone density is more. If tea is taken three cups a day, 21% of heart attack occurence can be lowered.
- Green Tea contains many poly phenols and they reduce the development of tumours (cancerous cells ). White Tea contains more active poly phenols which prevents Colon Cancer and also inhibits the growth of bacteria which cause bad breath.
- To prevent the stress caused by the cortisol hormone, Black Tea has to be taken. In people who take Black Tea , the possibility of occurence of stomach cancer, lung cancer, cataract, arthritis, heart problems can be reduced.
- According to National Tea Research Foundation, Tea has anti-oxidative, anti-microbial, anti-aging and anti-stress properties.
- If Tulasi (Oscimum) leaves are added to Tea and taken, it improves the functioning of liver, develops immunity and resistance and reduces gastro intestinal problems.
