Actor Krishnam Raju stabs BJP to join Chiru’s PRP

‘Rebel Star’ Krishnam Raju (better known than Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju) has stabbed his party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to join the newly founded Praja Rajyam Party led by fellow actor Chiranjeevi. Krishnam Raju’s political entry was through the BJP, he was twice elected as a Lok Sabha MP from the Narsapur Constituency. He rose to the height of becoming the Minister of State for External Affairs in the Vajpayee Cabinet. Krishnam Raju was also the Union Minister of State in the Ministries of Defence followed up by Consumer Affairs , Food & Public Distribution during the NDA rule.

Krishnam Raju has stated that he joined the PRP after getting impressed by the commitment shown by Chiranjeevi towards bringing social justice to the people. Krishnam Raju had acted in nearly 200 Telugu movies ever since he made his debut in 1966 through ‘Chilaka Gorinka’. His upcoming movie is ‘Billa’ which is directed by Meher Ramesh of ‘Kantri’ fame. Billa has Krishnam Raju’s famous nephew Prabhas playing the lead role.
