Australia wins Durban Test to seal Series

Australia have gone onto win the 2nd Test at Durban and as a result have sealed the 3-Test Series 2-0. South Africa resuming the final day’s play at 244 for 2 got bowled out for 370. The match got over in the post lunch session once the resistance from Jacques Kallis (93) and AB de Villiers (84) got broken. There wasn’t much fight coming through from the bottom half of the South African batting. Skipper Graeme Smith who fractured his finger in the first innings didn’t turn up.

The Aussies won this 2nd Test by a comprehensive margin of 175 runs. With this victory, Australia have retained their No.1 spot in the ICC Team Rankings in Tests. Peter Siddle and part time Chinaman bowler Simon Katich picked up three wickets each in the second innings. The Player of the Match was Phil Hughes for scoring a century in each innings.
