The civil Aviation authorities demanded for an FIR against Continental Airlines for subjecting the former President of India Sri. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam for an insulting security check by frisking him at the ladder point and also asking him to remove his shoes at Indira Gandhi International Air Port Delhi on April 21 while he was leaving to Newark USA.
Mean while it is learnt that the Continental Airlines tendered an apology to Sri. Abdul Kalam for the inconvenience caused to him. However they repeated their commitment to the rules stipulated to check all the passengers before boarding the air craft whether VIP’s or VVIP’s thoroughly.
Whereas the CSIF sent a report to the Bureau of civil Aviation Security on the violation of protocol and issued a show cause notice to the Airlines on July 9 to give a reply within a week.
