Azhar making ground to enter Politics!

This is the time to cash in big time for some people with elections just around the corner. And one of them is the former Indian Captain Mohammad Azharuddin. He has thrown his hat in the ring and is looking to impress the Congress High Command to get a ticket for either the Lok Sabha or the Vidhan Sabha. Azhar who is a resident of Andhra Pradesh could contest as a MLA in the State Assembly elections. But he has got higher goals and is looking for a MP ticket outside Andhra Pradesh. So here’s another person with a proven evil background looking to gain political power, god knows for what.

Few would disagree that Azharuddin was a lovely batsman in his days. Part of his story was that of a humble boy making it big in the world stage with his god given abilities. The other part of his story is the fact that he had fixed matches, in other words had greedily sold the nation’s interests in return of few extra bucks. He was banned for life by the BCCI and ICC for the rest of his life and that meant that Azhar had to end his career with 99 Tests. The bigger picture is that match fixing is quite a big and devastating crime as the bookies are people from the Mafia and the profits they make because of setting up matches as per their wishes would go into funding terrorism! I guess the Bollywood movie ‘Zannat’ depicted all that perfectly! Coming back to Azhar, I am really upset as a common man that he could not be put in a jail for his crime! All he got was just a bad name and still has got to live lavishly for whatever he had done!

The pity about Azharuddin is that he had made a statement in one of the interviews that he was accused of match fixing only because he was from the minority community! That was a shocker from a loser who forgot that he had the honour of being the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team for several years although he was from a minority community! Azharuddin is proven to be a corrupt individual, one who sold the honour of the country for his greed. Do we need such tainted personalities to serve us? Looks like all the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy knows is that Azharuddin had played a few cricket matches and his name will be good to take advantage of the vote bank. If Azzu does get an election ticket from Madam Sonia Gandhi then it is upto the people to take a call whether he deserves to be a leader or not!
