The polling for Assembly elections started today in the states of Punjab and Uttarakhand. All the arrangements for the peaceful elections are carried out.
Election in Punjab:
There are 19,841 polling stations in Punjab for 117 assembly seats. The polling began at 8 a.m in the morning. Despite the winter chill voters started coming to the polling station at 7.30 a.m itself and even before the opening of the polling stations.
To make sure of the peaceful elections in Punjab, along with state police, para-military staff from about 200 companies has been arranged. The police have divided the poling stations into few categories.
Shiromani Akalidhal gave 10 seats, BJP gave 3 seats, Congress gave 11 seats and BSP gave 6 seats for women to contest for the elections.
The Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister of the Punjab, DS Guru who resigned recently, is contesting for this elections and going to try his luck in Politics.
Election in Uttarakhand:
All arrangements have been made in Uttarakhand also to conduct peaceful elections. The polling officers have reached their polling stations to conduct the elections. Of the total 1,078 contestsnts, 93 women contesters and 417 independent participants are contesting for the on going elections in Uttarakhand.
The Election commission officials have identified 5 hyper sensitive polling stations (Patiala, Lambi, Bholath, Majithia and Jalalabad) and 32 sensitive polling stations.

Janata Party President Subramanian Swany is happy about the rejection of the bail for the accused in the Telecom Scam (2G Scam). MK Kanimozhi and seven others were rejected bail and has to remain in jail for another seven days and they do not deserve any special consideration.

The chief of the Public Accounts Committee Murli Manohar Joshi accused our Home Minister P Chidambaram for allowing the 2G scam to happen. He also said that everything was proved about the 2G scam as said by the PAC.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) called for a rail roko for three days. The rail roko finally started today even after postponing them twice previously due to elections in Banswada, a town in Nizamabad district.

Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy is in deep neck trouble as the CBI following the AP High Court Orders has begun its raids all over his palatial house – Lotus Pond in Hyderabad, Saakshi Offices, Sandur Power, Bharati Cements Office, Indu Projects etc.
The raids started as early as 6 AM while YS Jagan, the founder of the YSR Congress Party was away in his Odarpu Yatra to console people even after nearly two years after his father’s death. The CBI has spread its raids in his establishments based in other cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Vizag and other places. In total 180 locations related to YS Jagan are under the CBI raids as of now.
At the time of the raids which are still going on, Jagan’s wife Bharati, his mother YS Vijayamma, brother-in-law Bro. Anil Kumar and MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy are present in the palatial house which is alleged to have as many as 70 rooms! Its an irony that YS Jagan is not there and is instead on a a statue unveiling schedule of his late father Dr. YS Rajasekara Reddy.
The CBI is also conducting raids in the houses of various investors in Jagan Group of Companies like Nimmagada (Matrix Labs)Prasad, Hetero Drugs and many other people and businesses. There is already a FIR hanging on YS Jagan’s head which names his as the prime culprit in the EMAAR properties irregularities.
