Hindu Organization demands Goa Museum not to display Hussein Paintings

The Hindu organization sought for the removal of an oil painting of MF.Hussein titled as “Standing Buddha” which shows a white bull against brilliant colored back ground. Standing Buddha is one of the several paintings displayed in the Goa museum along with the arts of famous artists like FN.Souza, SH.Raza and others.

Radha Bhave the director of the museum stated that he has to meet the higher officials during this week before deciding its removal and sought some more time.

The Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi (HJS) convener Jayesh Thali confessed that he has no basic dissent to the said painting but their organization is working to prevent Hussein’s paintings in general as they are obscene and not to the appreciation of public. He displayed Bharat Mata and the Indian Gods in the nude in some paintings is highly obscene. Therefore their organization is trying to prevent display of his paintings all over India. He also stated that they will be forced to take up to agitation unless the painting was immediately not withdrawn.
