ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2009 – England Women beat West Indies Women by 146 runs

England Women had a cakewalk victory over West Indies Women at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney beating them by a massive margin of 146 runs. Batting first, England Women made a modest 236 for 8 and in reply their counterparts were bundled out for 90 in 38.2 overs.

The English innings saw three half centuries from its first three batswomen – Sarah Taylor (78 from 101 balls), Caroline Atkins (50) and Claire Taylor (65). Amazingly none of the other batswomen entered into double figures!  For West Indies, left armer Shanel Daley took three wickets. In their chase, the highest score from the West Indies was 23 from Deandra Dottin out of a total of 90. The most succesful bowler for the English was Laura Marsh who took 3 for 17 in 7.2 overs.

The Player of the Match was Sarah Taylor for her well made 75.
