India asked to bat first in 3rd ODI

India has been asked to bat first at the small AMI Stadium in Christchurch. Daniel Vettori is not playing in this match as his wife is expected to deliver a child today. Wicket Keeper Brendon McCullum will lead New Zealand in Vettori’s place. Well the Indian side has remained unchanged while the Black Caps have made two changes  with fast bowler Tim Southee coming in for Iain O’Brien and off spinner Jeetan Patel for Daniel Vettori.

This is an important match for New Zealand, they will have to win this one to win the series. The second match was abandoned due to rain while the first one was won comprehensively by India. The pitch for today’s game looks to be a belter for the batsmen but having said that there is a bit of grass to keep the seamers interested.
