India dictated to follow on in Napier Test

Team India is in deep trouble after a terrible batting collaspse on a decisive third day’s play to have New Zealand in a commanding position to level the Test Series. The visitors are now following on in their second innings. They have already lost Captain Virender Sehwag through yet another rash shot, this time getting lbw to Jeetan Patel.

India lost as many as 8 wickets for not much runs on the board today including their second innings. They are now facing an innings defeat and are trailing behind by a massive 314 runs. Things were looking alright as long as Rahul Dravid was there in the middle with first Sachin Tendulkar and then VVS Laxman. Somehow, the Kiwis could contain the strong Indian middle order to create a batting collapse. Rahul Dravid was the top scorer with 83 to his name. VVS Laxman batted well for his 76 but lost out on partners to support him. India were bowled out for just 305.

In their second innings, India are at 47 for 1 in 17 overs with Gambhir and Dravid batting.
