India six wickets away from making it 2-0

The third and final Test at Wellington has gone into the fifth day because of bad light coupled with the prolonged Indian second innings that lasted for an hour this morning. Just the 56 overs were bowled during the fourth day’s play with bad light once again coming into picture. India could pick up four wickets in the New Zealand second innings.

Earlier India declared its innings at 434 for 7. Skipper MS Dhoni helped himself to 56 while Yuvraj sizzled in his brief cameo of 40. By lunch Zaheer Khan gave India the first success by removing Tim McIntosh which helped Rahul Dravid break the world record of Mark Waugh for the most number of catches in Tests.

The post lunch session saw the Kiwis losing three more wickets with Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh bowling at their best. Harbhajan Singh had taken two wickets in a single over that also included the inform Jesse Ryder. New Zealand slipped to 84 for 4 but never lost any more wickets in the next 24 overs before bad light came to the rescue. At stumps on the fourth day, it is Ross Taylor (batting on 69) and James Franklin (batting on 26) who are holding the fort for the Kiwis who are placed at 167 for 4.
