Former NCW (National Commission for Women) member, Nirmala Venkatesh has formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bangalore today. Nirmala Venkatesh was sacked on the recommendation of the Women and Child Welfare Minister Renuka Chowdhury for her controversial report on the Mangalore Pub attack. Nirmala was previously from the Congress party and she is now seeking a Lok Sabha ticket from the BJP which could be unlikely.
The sacked NCW member made a revelation that she was pressurised to give an anti-Karnataka Government report about the Mangalore pub attack which she failed to do so. Her report didn’t quite add up the fuel for Renuka Chowdhury to take on the BJP state government in Karnataka.
