With an aim to control the spread of the H1N1 virus of swine flu in India, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, India is seeking Government permission for starting clinical trials of Swine flu vaccine. In this regard Cadila Pharmaceutical Ltd (CPL) has set up a joint venture with the US based vaccine maker Novavax for manufacturing the vaccine along with the other type of vaccines. (more…)

‘Made in India’ Fake Drugs: China admits involvement of its Pharmaceutical Companies

Nigeria’s drug regulatory authority National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has detained large consignment of fake anti malarial drugs labeled as “Made in India” but actually produced in China. The matter was reported to Indian Government. The Indian Government took up the issue with China immediately as it damages the reputation of the Indian Pharmaceutical industry. (more…)

Major Earth Quake struck the Islands of Andaman

A major Earth quake of a magnitude of 7.7 struck in the Indian Ocean off Andaman Islands by 1:55 am on Tuesday.(1955 GMT on Monday).A Tsunami alert was first given to India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh but later canceled. There were no reports of causalities or indication of Tsunami even after of two and half hours of the quake. (more…)
