Prime Ministers of India – Vishwanath Pratap Singh

Vishwanath Pratap Singh (in short V. P. Singh) was the 10th Prime Minister of India succeeding Rajiv Gandhi in 1989. The late V.P.Singh was the Mr.Clean of Indian Politics – when he was a Centre Minister, he was not afraid of exposing the scandals made by his own colleagues including the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He had also ordered income tax raids on several big wigs who were close to the Government in the mid 80s. When V.P.Singh had headed a Coalition Government under the umbrella of the National Front, he did not hesitate in getting L.K.Advani arrested during the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation in 1990. V. P.
